MS AzamMd Shafiul Azam, COO of Medbit

Your research partner on the ground in Bangladesh.

I lead the Medbit Research Network, connecting universities, biotech teams and CROs in Australia, the UK and the USA with ethically governed study sites, laboratory support and clean, analysis-ready data in Bangladesh.

Why work with me

I have run the bench, managed the lab and now coordinate the business, so I understand a study from sample tube to signed report.

Over five years in clinical labs

PCR and molecular diagnostics through COVID-19, haematology and biochemistry QC, and field blood collection with a strict cold chain for the national STEPS survey.

Operations lead at Medbit

As COO I run project coordination, partner relationships and quality processes, the same work your study depends on to start and finish on time.

Researcher in Sydney

I'm completing a Master of Medical Biotechnology at UTS and publish on haematology, antimicrobial resistance and genetic screening in Bangladesh.

What the Medbit Research Network can run for you

Start with one well-scoped project. Every study runs under the approvals and consent pathway it needs.

Retrospective data studies

Approved analysis of existing laboratory and clinical records from partner sites.

Prospective studies

Participant recruitment and new data collection under an approved protocol.

Biospecimen projects

Blood, serum and plasma collection, processing, coding and storage through qualified sites.

Research data management

CRF and eCRF design, cleaning, coding, QC and analysis-ready datasets.

Literature and evidence

Literature searches, evidence extraction and protocol background research.

Scientific communication

Tables, figures, posters, presentations and research reports.

How pricing works: you pay for research services, such as study setup, per-participant procedures, lab processing, data management and project management. We never sell patient data or samples.

How a project runs

You get one project owner, a clear scope, and a weekly or fortnightly update on recruitment, data quality, issues and next steps.

  1. Enquiry

A discovery call about your question, and an NDA if needed.

  2. Feasibility

We check which partner sites can realistically deliver it.

  3. Protocol and budget

Scope of work, milestones, timeline and quotation.

  4. Approvals

Ethics and site approvals are in place before anything starts.

  5. Site setup

Trained staff, SOPs and data systems ready at each site.

  6. Collection

Recruitment, data capture or sample collection as approved.

  7. QC and data

Quality checks, cleaning and coding as the data comes in.

  8. Delivery

Final QA, your dataset or report, and a documented close-out.

No approval / no recruitment / no collection / no release.

Ethics and governance come first in every project. That protects participants, and it protects the value of your data.

  • Informed consent or another approved access pathway for each study
  • Coded or de-identified datasets, with re-identification keys tightly controlled
  • A named custodian, access list, storage location and destruction date for all data and specimens
  • Project-specific legal, ethics and privacy review for any cross-border transfer

Who I work with

Teams that need flexible research capacity without setting up their own sites in South Asia.

  • University research groups
  • Biotech startups
  • Medical-device companies
  • CROs needing local support
  • Healthcare research organisations
  • Clinician-researchers
  • Public-health and epidemiology teams
  • Scientific consultancies

Start with a pilot

The easiest way to test the network is a small, well-scoped pilot study or retrospective data project. If it works, we scale it up or move to a monthly research-support arrangement.
